Software Available at JLab

This page provides information regarding software that is available at Jefferson Lab (JLab).  We support standard applications on JLab Windows, Linux, and Macintosh systems.  Each operating system (OS) section has information on these applications. 

Windows

Please visit the Configuring JLab-CUE Windows Machine page for a list of software that will be installed on a JLab owned and JLab-CUE configured Windows system.

Linux

Software available for installation on JLab-CUE Linux systems can be found in the /apps directory.

Macintosh

Please visit the JLab Macintosh Systems page for a list of software that will be installed on a JLab owned and JLab-CUE configured Macintosh systems.

CAD Software

A list of the software that is available to be used for CAD/CAE related endeavors can be found on the Supported CAD/CAE Software page.

Other Software

The software in the table below is available for installation on JLab-CUE systems.  For non-CUE systems, please contact the IT Division Help Desk.

*NOTE:  When you first start Mathematica, point the application to the JLab central license server, mathlm.jlab.org.  In order to do that, choose "Other ways to activate" when prompted for an activation code, and then type in mathlm.jlab.org under the Network license server tab.

Scientific Computing Software

The following software is available for the scientific computing community at JLab.

  • Auger - the software that manages the batch farm.
  • Jasmine - the software that manages the tape silo and associated cache disks.
  • Physics Applications - use the preceding link for information on various physics applications including Root, Geant4 (and old Cernlib) applications.
