ReadyTalk End-Of-Life -- September 30, 2014

ESnet Collaboration Services (ECS) will be discontinued on September 30, 2014.  ReadyTalk was a service provided to ESnet customers.  With the purchase of BlueJeans, the IT Division has decided to make BlueJeans the primary option for audio and video conferences.  Like ReadyTalk, BlueJeans provides audio conferencing, H.323 video conferencing, and web conferencing.

Jefferson Lab will end support for ReadyTalk by August 1, 2014.  To assist with an easy migration, there will be training sessions held on June 25th, July 10th, and July 23rd at 2:00PM in CC F113.  ReadyTalk was mainly used for audio conferencing, therefore, audio conferencing will be the focus of these training sessions.  There will be time at the end of each session for all questions regarding BlueJeans (H.323, web conferencing, etc.).

Please visit our BlueJeans webpage for information on logging in and configuring BlueJeans with your Jefferson Lab computer account.

Message from ESnet Collaboration Services (ECS):

After careful study and analysis of the commercial market, ESnet and its DOE program management have concluded that audio, video, and web services no longer fall within the appropriate mission scope of ESnet. As a result, we plan to discontinue our collaboration service offering (known as ECS) on September 30, 2014. Of course ESnet will work closely with its customers and affected communities to provide advice and assistance for migrating to alternative providers.

As a result of this change, ReadyTalk audio/web and ECS video collaboration services offered by ESnet will no longer be available starting October 1, 2014.  ESnet plans to discontinue new registrations for video and ReadyTalk service on July 1, 2014.
