The file server that provides access to /site and /apps (K: and L: drives) will be replaced with a new file server this upcoming, planned CST Maintenance Day - Tuesday, November 17, 2020 .  This will require a reboot of all Linux desktops and servers throughout the lab.  All Windows systems will have a forced reboot after 6:00PM during this maintenance period to clear cached information from the old file servers.  Similarly, Macintosh users should reboot their systems when maintenance is over.  The list below describes other maintenance day items:

  • The VMware Horizon VDI environment will be offline during this maintenance period.
  • Windows and Linux patches will be released to all JLab managed systems.  Reboot of Linux systems will occur in conjunction with the required reboots after the file server changes.  Windows servers will reboot overnight.  Your Windows desktop should be rebooted no later than 5:00PM on Thursday, November 20th.
  • clasweb and clasdb will be rebooted to increase local disk space as needed.

Please contact the CST Division Help Desk with any questions or concerns regarding this planned Maintenance Day period.
