JLab LQCD System Upgrades - June 26 & 28

The JLab HPC clusters will be down for scheduled maintenance next Tuesday and Thursday, June 26 and 28.  We will be installing a new /home fileserver, adding /work space, and upgrading systems to CentOS 6.2 to support the new 12s Sandy Bridge Infiniband cluster. Software updates will accompany the operating system upgrade, including gcc4.4 (default) and 4.6.3, MVAPICH2-1.8, OpenMPI-1.5.3, CUDA4.0 toolkit(default) and 4.2. 12s is available now via the interactive node qcd12si.

On Tuesday the PBS server will be upgraded; any jobs still in the queue at that point will need to be resubmitted.  With the PBS upgrade, 12s will be available in the ibtest queue, and a rack of 9g nodes will be available in the gputest queue.  Then on Thursday, all of 9g, 9q, 10g, 10q, and 11q will be upgraded.

All nodes will be moved to production service with the start of the new USQCD calendar year.
