JLab-CUE Directory Structure

/home - Home Directory

The home directory provides the user home directories that are available on any Jefferson Lab Common User Environment (JLab-CUE) system. There are disk quotas are implemented on the home directory. The home directory is backed up as part of regularly scheduled Computing and Networking Infrastructure (CNI) backups.

/apps - Applications Directory

The applications directory houses CNI provided applications (both commercial and public domain) for supported Unix and Windows systems. The /apps directory is backed up as part of regularly scheduled CNI backups.

/group - Group Directory

Within CUE, provisions are made to supply areas that are shared and accessible by individuals in groups that are assigned ownership of the directories.  There are Disk quotas implemented on the group directory. The group directory is backed up as part of regularly scheduled CNI backups.

/site - Site Directory

The site directory contains cross-platform utilities (/site/info contains information files of interest to users, etc.). The site directory is backed up as part of regularly scheduled CNI backups.

/scratch - Scratch Directory

The centrally available scratch filesystem is available to both Linux, Windows, and Macintosh systems. This filesystem is not backed up, has no associated disk quotas, and is intended for temporary storage. Files in a users scratch directory that have not been accessed with 14 days are deleted. The check runs nightly.
