The Computer Center provides desktop support for several centrally provided Windows applications. These applications are provided to meet the day to day computing needs of most individuals at JLAB. The Computer Center manages the version, updates, upgrades, and licensing of these applications. All are installed by default as new systems are built or rebuilt, and all are available for installation via the windows control panel and the Add/Remove Programs applet. See Instructions to Install Published Applications for additional information.

Windows Printing
The Computer Center supports dial in through a Remote Access Server (RAS). The server has a total of 46 incoming lines available for general use. The lines are compatible with all modem speeds, including the V.90 standard for 56K baud modems. They also support ISDN connections.
The RAS will provide dial-in users with TCP/IP connections only. Users can use RAS to check their emails, browse web pages and connect to central Unix systems.
The phone number to connect to the RAS is: 256-4000.
