MAC OS X Print Configuration

The print server for JLab is jlabprt.

The following are basic instructions for adding a printer from a Macintosh OS X system:

1. Open System Preferences





2. Open Print & Fax





3. Make sure you are under the Printing tab
4. Click the + to bring up the Print Browser





5. Select IP Printer
6. Select Line Printer Daemon - LPD for the Protocol
7. Enter jlabprt.jlab.org for the Address
8. Enter the name of the printer for the Queue
9. Enter the name of the printer for the Name
10. You may leave Location blank
11. Select the proper driver for Print Using or use Generic
12. Click add to complete the addition
13. NOTE: Depending on the printer added, and the driver used, you may now be asked for a few printer specific details or options.
