A.  See instructions at the top of the Security Page.

A. The Lab provides interactive connections only by secure shell (SSH). This SSH prevents the transmission of clear text passwords and encrypts the session. For information and configuration of SSH go here.

Q. If I want to check my email from a remote location and remain secure, what do I do?

A. To insure the security of your email while checking from an offsite location use an email program the supports Secure IMAP, such as Mozilla Thunderbird, and connect to the secure mail services provided from the lab. For information on connecting to secure mail services at the lab please see Computer Center Email pages.
